We are eager to gather with you, our family and friends, to celebrate our union and have decided to host a somewhat unique gathering. The wedding ceremony itself will be held outdoors, on the family property, in the big meadow overlooking the rest of the land. The reception will be a Vegetarian Potluck. All we ask is that if you are able to bring a dish, it not include any red meat (eggs and dairy are fine).
It is our goal to make our wedding ceremony and reception as authentic and enjoyable as possible. In doing so, we offer the following requests and suggestions for our reception’s vegetarian potluck dinner, your accommodations, the venue and parking, and your attire.
VEGETARIAN POTLUCK RECEPTION
In order to create a family picnic ambiance, we invite you to contribute your favorite vegetarian appetizer or dish for the festivities. If you are traveling or simply unable to share a gift from your kitchen, we understand. Simply bring along your appetite and enjoy the bounty! All flatware, beverages and desserts will be provided. ACCOMMODATIONS
We have reserved rooms and condominiums at Boyne Mountain Resort located in Boyne Falls. At Boyne Mountain you will have on-site access to restaurants, swimming, Spa, Avalanche Bay Indoor WaterPark, Hiking, Mountain Biking, Golf, Tennis, and the quickest travel to our wedding by taking Mountain Pass Drive. Mention that you are our guests and receive lower rates on rooms in the Clock Tower and the Village At Disciples Ridge. A more rustic option is camping. You are welcome to camp on our land, which is also the site of the wedding and reception. Another great camping venue is Young State Park located on Lake Charlevoix in Boyne City. They can be contacted at (800) 447-2757 or at Young State Park.
VENUE/PARKING
We have the privilege and honor of getting married on what has been Bricker family land for over 60 years. The wedding and reception will be located in the meadow. Parking will be located in several areas, some requiring a short hike. We will provide transport via golf cart directly to the wedding site for those needing extra assistance. As always, car-pooling is recommended.
ATTIRE
Our beautiful meadow locale is home to star thistles and other hearty plants. This makes both high-heeled shoes and bare feet less than ideal choices. While we have a tent, there is no source of natural shade, so please remember to wear and bring sunscreen.
